Australian Regulations for Metal Stairs 

Metal stairs, especially stairs made out of steel and aluminum must adhere to a range of Australian safety standards. Core Australian regulations for stairs as per the National Construction Code (NCC) include:

Dimensions: 

• Stairs located within habitable rooms must comply with Building Code 3.91.
• Staircases should have a minimum of two risers and a maximum of 18 without a landing.
